Online fire side treatment of industrial furnaces

France

France’s largest refinery asked CTP environnement to clean 4 furnaces within the site’s cracking unit. Due to the use of fuel that causes clogging, these facilities require regular maintenance to recover design operating data.

To avoid shutting down the unit, CTP environnement suggested the online – furnace in operation – cleaning of the heater’s tubes using inspection peep holes and other inspection access doors located both in the radiant and convection section.

The online Neutramex® treatment is suitable for refinery furnaces. Its chemical composition enables deposit to be broken down and removed from tube once weakened.

In addition to keeping the furnace in operation, ensuring a boost in production for the refinery, the online treatment performed by CTP environnement allowed the furnace’s efficiency to be increased by between 2 and 4 %, depending on the section cleaned and the furnace’s initial degree of clogging.
